  4.     Shuttle FTP Suite doesn't really need any installation (you can execute the 
  5. shuttleftp.exe file directly), but it includes a setup application and an uninstaller. 
  6. To run the setup utility just execute setup.exe file, select the destination directory
  7.  and press OK.

  10. Shuttle FTP Suite 
  11. -----------------

  13.     Shuttle FTP Suite, is an Internet multiprotocol client, so it can perform the functions 
  14. of every client supported by the program. Due to the fact that it has been developed to 
  15. work in a Windows environment, it has a visual, easy and intuitive interface.

  17.     Those characteristics are obtained building a program that supports multiple 
  18. windows or MDI documents (multiple document interface). Allowing the use of different 
  19. windows simultaneously, the work that have to be done gets easier . Working with a 
  20. program that does not support MDI, means that multiple sessions of the same program must 
  21. be opened for every client, but using a MDI program, there is no need to open more than 
  22. one session of the program, because as many clients as wanted can be opened from it, and 
  23. they will be displayed in their respective child windows. Using Shuttle FTP Suite, you can 
  24. open several sessions of each implemented protocol (FTP, Telnet, Ping, Finger, ...), 
  25. and open sessions of different clients from the main program.

  27.     Shuttle FTP Suite supports 6 Internet protocols : FTP, Telnet, Finger, Whois, DNS and Ping. Now
  28.  I'll give a brief description of each one:

  30.     The main supported client is FTP (File Transfer Protocol), which is 
  31. used to transfer files over the network using a visual interface similar to Windows 
  32. Explorer, and supports Drag & Drop, Copy & Paste, and broken uploads/downloads resume.

  34.     MFTP lets you upload files to multiple hosts simultaneously.
  35.  
  36.     Telnet client is a console emulator, which supports not only Telnet
  37.  servers but also VT100 emulation.
  38.  
  39.     Finger is a simple protocol to get information about a user.
  40.  
  41.     Whois lets you get information about network domains.
  42.  
  43.     DNS lets you know the IP address of a host.
  44.  
  45.     Ping is a utility to see if a server is up and running, and to 
  46. show statistics of the communication. The information and the statistics are displayed
  47.  visually.

  49. FTP Client

  52.     The FTP Client included in Shuttle FTP Suite, is the most important of the whole 
  53. Shuttle FTP Suite application (note that it gives the name to program). It is visual and 
  54. has a clear interface, so the user has no need to know any FTP command.

  56.     The main screen is divided in three parts: The first one includes the menu and 
  57. the toolbar, the second one includes the tree viewer which displays the directories like
  58.  Windows Explorer, and the third one includes the file viewer which displays the files 
  59. listed in the current directory (like Windows Explorer).

  61.     The tree viewer lets you navigate through the directories of your local files and
  62.  your FTP servers (displayed as remote units), and the files of the current directory will
  63.  be displayed in the list viewer. You can make a connection to a FTP server using either 
  64. the Quick Connection option or the FTP Site Manager. Shuttle FTP Suite lets you connect to as 
  65. many FTP servers as you want, because each session will be displayed as a remote unit in 
  66. the tree viewer.

  68.     The FTP Client supports Drag & Drop and Copy & Paste, of  files and directories, 
  69. and includes advanced features like recursive File Search (even if it is a remote FTP 
  70. server), Server to client and server to server file copy, tree deletion (even if it is 
  71. not empty), and broken upload/download resume (I have called this automatic system: 
  72. Smart Resume)... and many other functions.

  74.     You can use the next file functions with the FTP client: Delete, Rename, New 
  75. Folder (directory), Upload, Download, Copy, Paste, Execute, List (dir), Search, ...

  77.     It is very easy to use, because it works exactly like Windows Explorer (its 
  78. interface is similar too).

  80. Telnet Client

  83.     The Telnet Client lets you open a remote session to a host. It opens a console 
  84. window that lets you connect to the Telnet server.

  86.     The Telnet client is divided in two parts: the first one includes the menu and 
  87. the toolbar, and the second one includes the console window. You can open a session to 
  88. a remote host using either the Quick Connection or the Telnet Site Manager option.

  90.     This Telnet Client, supports VT100 terminal emulation (including font attributes
  91.  like bold, inverse video, etc).

  93. Finger Client

  96.     The Finger Client is a simple client that displays the response of a Finger 
  97. server, which is usually information about a user of its system. You can connect to a
  98.  Finger server using either the Quick Connection or the Finger Site Manager option.

  100. Ping Application

  103.     Ping is an application used by many system administrators and users to see if 
  104. a server is up and running, and to check the connection characteristics.

  107.     The screen is divided in three parts: the first one includes the menu and the 
  108. toolbar, the second one the main screen with the list of the sent packets, and the third
  109.  one includes the statistics of the current ping. You can ping a server either using the 
  110. Quick Connection option or the Ping Site Manager. After that, you will see a list of the
  111.  sent packets and statistics of the current ping, and you can copy, save or print them
  112.

  116.     Shuttle FTP Suite is a Shareware program. This means that if you like it after you have 
  117. tried it or you are going to use it for commercial purposes, you must register it. I have
  118.  put a lot of hard work to develop this Internet multi client, and I need money to 
  119. continue developing new versions of this program.

  121.     There are two ways of registering Shuttle FTP Suite:
